About this piece

Lot of 10 original vintage black-and-white snapshots from one family album, following what appears to be the same curly-haired girl from toddler to school age. Included: a three-generation group (father, grandmother holding the toddler, grandfather in pinstripes) by a brick house; a small studio portrait of the girl in a ruffled dress; five girls lined up in a yard (one shirt lettered CENTER); the girl on a playground merry-go-round; a child hanging upside down on a swing set; a family picnic with children under a tree; a toddler on a porch of a frame house; the girl crouching in a garden with hair bows; the girl on a rope tree swing; and the toddler in a white dress by a brick house. Sizes: 4 prints about 5 x 3.5 inches (deckle edge) and 6 prints about 3.5 x 2.5 inches (rounded corners). Condition: light corner wear, edge wear on the studio portrait, some images soft as taken; album-page toning lines on the backs, with lab numbers, Kodak and pencil marks on a few.

From a mid-century family photo album purchased at auction in Canfield, Ohio. The album also held a newspaper clipping about a women's club meeting in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. No names are written on the photos.

A coherent one-family childhood run for vernacular photo collectors.
