About this piece
Original 1927 advertisement for Requa's Charcoal Tablets and Requa's Prepared Cubeb Cigarettes by Requa Mfg. Co., Inc., 1193 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y. (Est. 1879). Carefully removed from a vintage 1927 publication; it measures about 5.25 x 3.75 inches. Light even toning and small binding holes along one edge from removal; no tears seen.
"Is Life Worth Living? It depends on the liver." The ad pictures the round Charcoal Tablets tin, a cubeb cigarette package, and a gentleman smoking in a reclining chair. The cubeb cigarettes are sold as a remedy for catarrh, asthma, hay fever and influenza — "Contains no Tobacco."
A standout crossover piece for tobacciana and smoking collectors, patent medicine collectors, Brooklyn history, framing or junk journals.
