About this piece

Printed black and white postcard of The Methodist Church, Twin Falls, Idaho, printed for the Kingsbury Printing & Stationery Co. of Twin Falls. The front shows the new-looking church with stucco walls, stone foundation, a large Gothic window and a corner bell tower with spire, set on an open, unlandscaped lot. Divided back, standard 3.5 x 5.5 in, posted from Kimberly, Idaho in the early 1910s. Fair to good vintage condition with a brown stain along the left front edge and a larger stain at the bottom of the back, corner wear, and a full handwritten message.

Front caption: "The Methodist Church, Twin Falls, Idaho." Back imprint runs vertically: "Printed for the Kingsbury Printing & Stationery Co., Twin Falls."

Postmarked Kimberly, Idaho, Oct 12 (year partly struck, appears 1912 or 1913) with a green 1 cent Franklin stamp. The ink message, written upside down and headed "Kimberly Oct. 12," opens "Dear Mother" and talks about being busy with threshing and potato digging on the farm, addressed to Mrs. Elizabeth Lindley (as it reads), Tuscola, Douglas Co., Ill. A good early Magic Valley farm-life card for Methodist and Idaho collectors.
