About this piece
Pair of two antique stereoview cards on grey flat mounts with rounded corners, each about 7.1 x 3.6 inches. One is captioned Elephant Performing in Ring, Wild West Show; the other Hotel Chamberlain, Old Point Comfort, Va. Light overall wear to the mounts, with minor corner and edge rubbing.
The elephant card shows elephants performing in a circus ring with tents and poles behind. The Hotel Chamberlain card shows the big shingle-style hotel from a wooden pier over the water. Both images are printed (photomechanical) rather than actual photographs, and the captions carry the numbers 1907 and 1918, which appear to be series or view numbers rather than dates.
No publisher name is visible on the fronts. The style of the cards suggests they appear to date from about 1900 to 1915. A nice pair for circus, Wild West show or Virginia resort collectors.
