About this piece
Vintage Armour Fertilizers advertising pocket memo book, about 3.3 x 5.7 inches. The cover reads "more farmers use... Armour Fertilizers" and shows a smiling farmer at a tractor wheel with fields behind him and bags of Armour Fertilizers and Armour Vertagreen Plant Food for Commercial Crops in front. Condition: light wear overall; the identification page is blank.
Inside, the identification page reads "This memo book is a gift of your Armour agent. See him for all your fertilizer needs," facing a full-page ad for Vertagreen Plant Food for Commercial Crops ("Order Early to be Sure of Delivery").
The back cover is printed "Armour Fertilizer Works, General Office - Atlanta, Georgia" with a list of sales offices including Albany, Augusta and Columbus Ga., Birmingham and Montgomery Ala., Memphis and Nashville Tenn., New Orleans, Jacksonville, Houston, Dallas, Havana Cuba and San Juan Puerto Rico, among others.
Appears to date from about the 1950s, though the book is not dated. A great piece for farm advertising, fertilizer, and Southern agriculture collectors.
