About this piece
Original vintage black-and-white snapshot of a small child dressed as a cowboy, in a wide sombrero-style hat with a trimmed brim, cardigan and fringed chaps, sitting on a pinto pony in a studded bridle and western saddle on a sidewalk in front of a clapboard house. It is the classic kid-on-a-pony picture of the mid-century years. Measures about 5 x 3.5 inches. Condition: light edge and corner wear, a darkened border along the edges, and light toning lines on the blank back from the album page.
From a mid-century family photo album purchased at auction in Canfield, Ohio. No names, studio or place are written on the photo.
A great piece for collectors of cowboy and western childhood photos, pony photographs and vernacular snapshots.
