Photo 1 of 15

About this piece

Lot of 7 original vintage photographs that appear to follow the same freckled girl from grade school into her teens. Included: a school portrait in cat-eye glasses and a dark dress with a white Peter Pan collar and rickrack trim; a gap-toothed grade-schooler with a headband and pearl choker; two freckled teen portraits in a floral blouse and a striped blouse; a young woman with a 1960s flip hairdo; a studio proof with the black negative border and the photographer's handwritten print order (wallets, 3x5, tinted 8x10); and a color snapshot of a red-haired teen with an older woman in a formal rock garden. Each print about 5 x 3.5 inches. Condition: pink-orange foxing spots on several, small corner creases on two, color shift and a light flare on the color print; blank backs with album-page toning lines and some paper loss.

From a family photo album from Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, purchased at auction in Canfield, Ohio. No names are written on the photos.

A nice growing-up run for vernacular photo and school-portrait collectors.
