About this piece

Gospel Parallels: A Synopsis of the First Three Gospels, edited by Burton H. Throckmorton, Jr. Thomas Nelson & Sons (Toronto, New York, Edinburgh), Second Edition revised, copyright 1949, 1957, reprinted July 1958. Revised Standard Version text in parallel columns, with alternative readings from the manuscripts and noncanonical parallels; arrangement follows the Huck-Lietzmann Synopsis. Blue cloth hardcover, no jacket. Used, good: cloth rubbed and spotted, spine sunned and spotted with wear at the ends, a small stain on the endpapers, and a previous owner's ink name and address (Mercer University, Macon, Georgia) on the front free endpaper; text pages clean in the areas shown.

The standard English synopsis used in seminary and college New Testament courses for generations — handy for comparing Matthew, Mark and Luke side by side, with footnoted manuscript variants and parallels from texts such as the Gospel of the Ebionites.

A good copy for students, pastors and Bible study leaders.
