About this piece

Lot of three complete LIFE magazine issues covering the 1969 Apollo moon missions, each with its original mailing label. All show edge wear; specific flaws are listed below.

• July 25, 1969 (Vol. 67 No. 4), "Leaving for the Moon": Neil Armstrong heading to the launch pad, with "Apollo's Leap for the Moon," an editors' grid of 32 earlier LIFE space covers, and a Kurt Vonnegut Jr. report. Spine and edge wear, mailing label partly torn.
• August 22, 1969 (Vol. 67 No. 8), "Our Moon Trip – The astronauts write their own stories": first-person accounts by Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins. "Re Moon" handwritten in ink at the top of the cover, plus a chip on the back cover's left edge.
• December 12, 1969 (Vol. 67 No. 24), "Apollo 12 on the Moon": color lunarscapes from the Sea of Storms. Light edge ripple, and creasing at the upper left of the back cover.

Each is about 10.5 x 13.7 in. The back covers are Marlboro, Coca-Cola and Kool ads.
